Musk Confesses To Lying

Musk Revises Trump Administration’s Gaza Condom Funding Claim

In an unexpected turn, Elon Musk has backed away from a claim made by the Trump administration regarding a supposed $50 million allocation for condoms in Gaza—a statement that turned out to be a geographical mix-up.

While standing in the Oval Office alongside President Donald Trump, as the president signed a series of executive orders, Musk was confronted by a reporter about the accuracy of the claim. Recent reports had revealed that the funding in question was not for Gaza at all, but rather for a Mozambican province, where the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) had provided contraceptives as part of an AIDS prevention initiative.

Acknowledging the mistake, Musk admitted, “Some of the things I say will be incorrect and should be corrected. Nobody is going to bat 1,000. We will make mistakes, but we’ll act quickly to correct any mistakes.”

Still, the Tesla and SpaceX CEO seemed perplexed by the scale of the misreported funding, adding, “I’m not sure we should be sending $50 million worth of condoms anywhere… I don’t think that’s something Americans would be particularly excited about. That really is an enormous number of condoms.”

Musk then softened his stance slightly upon realizing the actual destination of the funding. “If it were for Mozambique instead of Gaza, that’s not as bad, but still… why are we doing that?” he questioned, leaving the room with more questions than answers about U.S. foreign aid priorities.
